The Marketing Project Manager leads the planning and implementation of marketing efforts around major exhibits, membership, events and educational programs. They assist in tracking and evaluating these marketing campaigns across all channels in order to optimize performance. The Marketing Project Manager directs OMSI's broad array of email marketing efforts, oversees media sponsorships, and supports Marketing and other departments on special projects. They coordinate department finances and assist in media budgeting and purchasing.


Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Oversees project management around major exhibits, membership, events, and key educational programs. Manages media buys and marketing partnerships and helps track the production and placement of marketing assets;
  • Manages reporting and dashboards that measure, track, and optimize marketing efforts with a focus on ROI, tracking timelines and goals, and oversees resource allocation;
  • Manages email marketing and member communications;
  • Assists with implementation of digital and traditional paid marketing including social, print + digital, broadcast and other external advertising;
  • Assists in developing campaign overview calendars to ensure content is planned, produced, and disseminated according to promotional timelines;
  • Collaborates with the Development team on the creation of sponsorship promotional and wrap materials;
  • Assists Senior Director of Brand Marketing in managing department finances including communicating with advertising and production vendors on estimates, design due dates, asset delivery, and payments.

Working Conditions

  • This position is exempt, paid salaried;
  • This position is regular full-time, scheduled for 40 hours/week:
    • Additional weekend or outside regular hours may be required;
    • Requires working onsite at the museum location.

Secondary Job Responsibilities

  • Provides support to the Marketing team and department as assigned by the Senior Director of Brand Marketing. Secondary responsibilities include-but are not limited to-the following:
    • Assists with content creation for all marketing channels;
    • Optimizes email and messaging campaign performance through segmentation, personalization, and content testing;
    • Regularly meets with internal stakeholders on needs and responds to incoming department requests.

PREFERENCES:

  • Familiarity with Hubspot platform;
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Suite products;
  • Developed knowledge of diversity, equity, and inclusion principles;
  • Proficient or native fluency in a second language.

Education & Work Experience

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree with an emphasis on Marketing, Communications, or related field; or equivalent experience that demonstrates skills and talents, as follows:
    • Experience with guiding multidisciplinary teams to achieve organizational, team, and project-based Marketing goals;
    • Documented communications expertise that engages audiences from all backgrounds in a strategic and thoughtful way. Written pieces focused on producing engaging content of varying formats and mediums;
    • Experience using program management tools such as Basecamp, Asana, Jira, Trello, or similar;
    • Examples of effective time management and organization;
    • Examples of strong facilitation and presentation skills in project-based assignments.
