The Digital Marketing Manager leads the development, implementation, tracking, and optimization of marketing campaigns across all online digital channels. This position will also oversee the management of OMSI's website: OMSI.edu. The Digital Marketing Manager is the lead content manager across OMSI's social media channels with responsibility for ensuring consistency with brand guidelines. In collaboration with Marketing and IT colleagues, they will lead the data analysis of OMSI's digital marketing efforts and leverage findings to improve campaigns, increase audience reach, and enhance the guest experience.


Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Oversees OMSI.edu website management, working with departments across the organization to keep the website current, engaging, and on brand;
  • Advocates for user-centered design at all stages of the web development life cycle;
  • Uses knowledge of UX research principles, user flows, wireframes, and other tools to understand, test, and validate user needs, motivations, and pain points;
  • Coordinates with internal and external partners on website maintenance and development needs;
  • Leads planning and execution of all online digital marketing, including social, search engine, Google ads, and OTT channels;
  • Leads digital marketing analytics, providing relevant ROI reporting and data-informed insights that translate to effective marketing strategies;
  • Enhances brand positioning and awareness within the digital space by auditing OMSI's digital presence and driving online traffic;
  • Collaborates with Marketing colleagues on digital advertising scheduling, metrics, and budgets;
  • Supervises the Marketing Specialist position. Tasks include-but are not limited to-the following:
    • Assigns campaign and general marketing reporting tasks;
    • Provides regular 1-on-1s and check-ins;
    • Partners on campaign optimization;
    • Confirms marketing contracts and briefs related to digital efforts.

Working Conditions

  • This position is exempt, paid salaried;
  • This position is regular full-time scheduled for 40 hours/week:
    • Additional weekend or outside regular hours may be required;
    • Requires working onsite at the museum location.

Secondary Job Responsibilities

  • Provides support to the Marketing team and department as assigned by the Senior Director of Brand Marketing. Secondary responsibilities include-but are not limited to-the following:
    • Monitor social media posts and respond as appropriate;
    • Attend events and produce live social media content;
    • Identify and vet new channels, vendors, and technology solutions to drive business results;
    • Study digital trends, technologies, and best practices.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Business Practices:

    • High proficiency with Google Suite and/or Microsoft Office;

  • Digital Marketing Knowledge and Abilities:
    • Knowledge of brand implementation methods and strategies across digital properties;
    • Ability to use web development and business tools e.g., HTML, CSS, Google Ads, Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, and Salesforce;
    • Ability to capture, synthesize, and organize end-to-end project documentation.
    • Strong knowledge of cutting-edge integrated marketing techniques including SEO/SEM, CRM solutions, Hubspot, social media marketing, ad word curating, audience building and more;
    • Strong understanding of how to identify and apply technology and best practices to positively impact marketing strategies and the customer journey (user experience, testing, and accessibility);
    • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with and translate technical work/decisions to non-technical team members and internal partners, including senior leadership.

PREFERENCES:

  • Understanding of best practices for user-centered web design;
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Suite products;
  • Developed knowledge of diversity, equity, and inclusion principles;
  • Proficient or native fluency in a second language.

Education & Work Experience

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of 5 years of cumulative work experience-with increasing responsibility-as follows:
    • Current web development and business tools e.g., HTML, CSS, Google Ads, Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, and Salesforce;
    • Social media management;
    • Track record of establishing or contributing to system and processes improvements.

PREFERENCES:

  • Experience with business-to-consumer marketing;
  • Experience with UX/UI design processes for end-users.
