Assists Senior Supply Specialist with the organization and coordination of all aspects of the supply room's services, including the order, delivery, inventory, care and archiving of all supplies associated with OMSI's science classes.

Participate in programs/initiatives to enhance corporate culture, such as:

  • Working effectively with and supporting volunteers, throughout the organization.
  • Supporting OMSI's Total Guest Experience (TGE)/Customer Service mission & objectives in daily job performance, including diversity initiatives

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Performing the following will involve driving to various locations outside OMSI's corporate headquarters:

  • Research and analyze products used in the classes program.
  • Orchestrate pick up and delivery of supplies to specific sites with site supervisors.
  • Responsible for maintaining a safe work environment including proper storage of supplies in the warehouse and in the delivery vans.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records and files.
  • This position is exempt, paid salaried
  • This position is special project, scheduled for 40 hours/week.

Working Conditions

  • This position is generally open from June to September.
  • Physical Demands: 10% Sitting   40% Standing   50% Lifting/Carrying/Pushing/Pulling 50 Pounds
  • Vision requirements include close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less), distance vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more), color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors), peripheral vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left or right while eyes are fixed on a given point), depth and perception (three dimensional vision, ability to judge distance and spatial relationships), and ability to adjust focus (ability to adjust the eyes to bring an object into sharp focus).
  • Work environment includes wet or humid conditions (non-weather), work near moving mechanical parts, work in high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and outdoor weather conditions
  • Noise level is moderate (examples: business office with computers and printers, light traffic) to very loud (examples: jack hammer work, front row at rock concert).

Secondary Functions:

  • Work cooperatively and communicate regularly with instructors, assistants, coordinators and volunteers.
  • Help in the organization and coordination of all aspects of OMSI's supply services, including organization of supply room, order and distribution of supplies, accurate account maintenance, proper care and storage of supplies.
  • Assist the Senior Supply Specialist with the daily operations of the supply room during science classes, including purchase, distribution, consolidation, care and storage of supplies.
  • Assume other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the Senior Supply Specialist.

  • Understanding of confidentiality and protocol.


  • Nonprofit experience.

Education & Work Experience:


  • Bachelor's Degree in an education or science related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of program coordination or equivalent combination.
  • Minimum 1 year of informal experience in organizational strategies.


  • Bilingual - Spanish/English.
  • Experience working with volunteers.

Additional Requirements/Preferences; Including Licenses and Certifications:


  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
  • Current CPR and first aid certification (training can be provided at cost to employee).
  • Pre-employment checks, such as criminal background check, reference checks, and requirements in the MVR Policy including passing Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check.
